WINTER WONDERLAND GROUP LOG

When the happy confirmed couples are ready to venture out of their honeymoon suites and experience more that the Winter Wonderland lodge has to offer, they'll find that they're basically staying as some of the only guests in an exquisite, all-inclusive winter resort. Think Sandals, but with snow instead of beaches. While the honeymooners will be whisked away to the camp retreat for the middle week of the competition, there's plenty for them to explore when they return!
As more couples transition from Mistletoe Manor to the resort itself, everyone may run into each other during the day while in search of activities. They might have breakfast together at the buffet, head out on a skiing adventure together, visit the pool without having to worry about cameras zooming in on wardrobe malfunctions, or simply hang out together and enjoy some live entertainment during one of the occasional ballroom concerts. If none of that is particularly tempting, they can entertain themselves by putting together their own events.
Most activities and entertainment are likely available, at least sometimes, at the resort. The only real limitation is that participants aren't allowed to leave the show's general domain - they can't find a nearby town or book a flight out of here, for example. Travel between honeymoon suites and Mistletoe Manor is freely available, and while honeymooners are expected back in their shared beds at night, there's no one really doing nightly checks.
If anyone would like to invite other honeymooners back to their suite for a spell, all they have to do is request an extra key (tell Shay and she'll add the new person/people to the filter)

[He takes a sip of his tea not wanting to keep the girls from getting their breakfast any longer and he won't deny he's rather peckish himself.]
Come, let's grab our meals first. [As he stands he offers his arm to Nagiko to take so they can head up there together.] Dominique can keep Miss Ai company for the moment.

[ give her the deets, barok!! she wants to know.
old habits die hard, so she places a hand delicately on his arm for all of a second before she moves to try and link their arms together. it is not a great way to get food, but it is a great way to walk somewhere (in nagiko's mind). ]

[He waits patiently for her to attach herself to him before leading to the great offering of food.
Unfortunately for Nagiko Barok is not one to be offering what could be called deets. Perhaps she'll have better luck with Dominique.]
I have also reconfirmed things I already knew or suspected. One of which is that I care for her very deeply and I think our lives will fit very nicely together.

she hits L for PRESS. ]
Yeah? Looks like the week's been great for you. What else have you two done while here? Have you gone on a lot of dates?
[ have you gone past your victorian sensibilities ARE YOU SHARING THE SAME BED nagiko won't ask this BUT I WANT TO KNOW ]

[It's been nice just staying in. Not having to worry about work or anything like that. Just being comfortable and eating the modern day snacks and watching very bad, yet very good, soap operas.
There's something to be said by simply staying in cozy silence and becoming familiar with someone else in your space for the first time.
They're sharing the bed, that is to say. After nearly a dozen comments of how improper it is that is what they inevitably decided to do.]
And yourself? You've only just arrived but there seems to be no shortage of things for two young ladies, such as yourself, to do.

nagiko clasps her hands together (even if their arms are still linked). ]
It's always more fun to watch something with someone. Whether it's the TV or a play or whatevs.
[ activities are best enjoyed with others; better with those you care about. at his question, she looks back to where dominique and ai are. ]
Well, Acchan wanted a list of possible things to do because that's how she is, so... I'm trying.
[ she's doing her best, considering how much she does things whenever she feels like. ]

I do concur... Having someone to go to the opera with is much more enjoyable. There is usually something to discuss after it ends so it is nice to trade thoughts on lighting or the acting or story beats.
[Dominique and he have been watching a bunch of shows that air in the afternoon that seem to be long standing affairs so some things are hard to follow but no less interesting. So much drama in these soap operas.]
Ah... A list of things to accomplish is well and good. [Opposite to what he and Dominique are doing as well. Spending time inside and talking to close any gaps between them where the two younger run about in see if their interests align. It suits each pair, he thinks.] And what sort of things are on your agenda? I'm certain if there is any nervousness about the two of you being alone we may be able to do something with all four of us. Just to help ease any tensions. Admittedly it was a little nerve wracking to be on my own with my own perfect match for the first time so if it helps you two to ease in to all that Dominqiue and I can assist you where it's needed.
[He carefully detaches himself from her once they reach the island of food. He hands her one of the ceramic white plates so she can start helping herself.]
Or... if it is more comfortable just you three ladies.

[ for two seconds, nagiko sounds like the noblewoman she once was, if it weren't for her word choice. it's the imperious tone that won't stand for an argument.
she takes the plate from him and starts piling on the food. by the end of it, her plate will be covered. there will be heaps. it will look impossible. ]
We're not gonna leave you alone. The whole reason you're here is so you won't be, right? We can all hang out together.
[ double dates, even if terribly, nagiko won't necessarily be thinking of them that way despite the whole point of this whole place. ]
Acchan wants to go the spa. I want to go on a carriage ride. It's been a while since I've done that. I'd love to have you two come with, but if you two want your intimate time together, I won't take that away from you.
[ she may force herself into people's lives and personal spaces, but she won't make herself a third wheel. ]
no subject
He clears his throat intending to at least explain himself but perhaps it's best to let it go. He can reason that it'd be better to give the three ladies their space but realistically he may have been purposely excluding himself.]
I am not terribly certain if I want anything to do with the spa. [He carefully scoops scrambled eggs onto his plate in much smaller portions. His plate looks so empty next to hers. Nagiko what are you doing?] But I would enjoy a carriage ride to be certain. Those are quite common place back home but I can admit I don't usually ride them to enjoy the scenery or view. There are also concerts I have heard that can play some nights. Dominique and I have spoken about dancing on several occasions.
[Barok fumbles with the serving spoon at the word intimate being uttered in his proximity, letting out a soft huff.]
You would not be taking anything away from us. She and I always have our evenings if we wish to be alone.
no subject
Do you know how to relax?
[ there's no malice in that question, but it is pointed. a spa day could help him. ]
Oooh, a concert would be soooo fun! [ there are probably imagining two different kinds of concerts, but nagiko would enjoy any kind of concert. ] I can see you and Domichin tearing up a ballroom dancefloor.
[ she says that, but she can see it being very romantic between the two of them. ]
no subject
[A concert though, and they most certainly are thinking of two different kinds of concerts, would be relaxing.]
Perhaps... my waltz is a little rusty but she and I did say we would go dancing in Paris when this was all said and done. It would be as good a time as any to brush up on the basics.
Do you know how to waltz, Miss Nagiko?
no subject
[ so she can hear how much he like to drink. however, if she is here to take in what other people want to do and how they do it, she may as well hear how barok wants to have fun, too. ]
Uh, no, that kind of dance I don't know how to do. Even back when... [ back when what? she doesn't elaborate. ] Dance was a different kind of thing to the court. It was watched, not performed, that kind of thing, but we should totes all go dancing.
no subject
[He brought the new vampire book from his time only to be matched with a vampire. If he was a believer of such things he may say that was some kind of fate.]
Watched not performed... [In a court, she says. He's too keen not to notice these outliers in her commentary. That being said he can still only presume that she's from the future even with the comment of "back then".] Do they still do things like that in the Far East? That sounds like a custom I've heard about from over there but I had presumed that everything had gotten far less strict across the map as the centuries passed by.
no subject
Do you think it's coincidence or something more?
[ nagiko is willing to accept either answer. she's a romantic, but the only ideal she tries to force on people is to try to be happier, if they can. she's pushy but in a way that can be swat away. ]
Oh, haha, they're more free about it now, but, uh, I only recently showed up in the twenty-first century. [ she knows saying this is going to bring up more questions than answers, but she doesn't think to lie. ] I'm originally from the eleventh century, I guess.
no subject
Maybe it was fate...
[He nods at 21st century. Yes, that's where no small portion of people who came here are from and--]
11th century? [He questions rather softly. It's a rather stunning admittance. That is quite some time ago.] That's... [In an instant he decide not to fuss about this. The "I guess" at the end of her comment gives the feeling that he shouldn't. If she would like to expand on it he'll give her the space to. Otherwise... In time this will surely come up again. They have many more weeks together and many more breakfasts.] You're adapted exceptionally well for being the oldest person in this house by some centuries.
no subject
[ is that too honest or too much? nagiko doesn't seem to mind it. it's what she thinks even if both barok and dominique seem to be more private individuals. ]
I've been called modern for my era.
[ she flashes a peace sign. that is indeed what helps her adapt to most pop culture and pop trends. the way her essays and poems in the Pillow Book could translate to tik toks and instagram stories and youtube streams if carried across the eras is unreal. ]

I think some of it would be inappropriate for most eyes to view but... [He squints some trying to ponder some other great romances of the ages. He supposes that it is somewhat sensational how it all came to be but other than that...] It is a role reversal of the common vampire story which would make it a rather intriguing story to a certain demographic.
Myself and Dominique... It can't really be all that fascinating though. To you or the people that may one day watch this program.
[That's still difficult to parse that he is somehow interesting outside his cursed legacy. If there's anything interesting about it that would be because one of them is a vampire. Perhaps that's it...]
I find you quite futuristic by my era's standards so I can hardly imagine what you were like in your own era. But... for however longer you continue to persist in time I hope you maintain this brilliant spark of yours. I found half a lifetime trying enough... I can't imagine continuing to move forward. I think a story about yourself, Miss Nagiko, would be far more fascinating and in turn one I would be most keen to read.
