WINTER WONDERLAND GROUP LOG

When the happy confirmed couples are ready to venture out of their honeymoon suites and experience more that the Winter Wonderland lodge has to offer, they'll find that they're basically staying as some of the only guests in an exquisite, all-inclusive winter resort. Think Sandals, but with snow instead of beaches. While the honeymooners will be whisked away to the camp retreat for the middle week of the competition, there's plenty for them to explore when they return!
As more couples transition from Mistletoe Manor to the resort itself, everyone may run into each other during the day while in search of activities. They might have breakfast together at the buffet, head out on a skiing adventure together, visit the pool without having to worry about cameras zooming in on wardrobe malfunctions, or simply hang out together and enjoy some live entertainment during one of the occasional ballroom concerts. If none of that is particularly tempting, they can entertain themselves by putting together their own events.
Most activities and entertainment are likely available, at least sometimes, at the resort. The only real limitation is that participants aren't allowed to leave the show's general domain - they can't find a nearby town or book a flight out of here, for example. Travel between honeymoon suites and Mistletoe Manor is freely available, and while honeymooners are expected back in their shared beds at night, there's no one really doing nightly checks.
If anyone would like to invite other honeymooners back to their suite for a spell, all they have to do is request an extra key (tell Shay and she'll add the new person/people to the filter)

Miss Nagiko's camera can also show the television shows?
[Why can one common object do so many unique things?]
What year is it that you come from again?

[ In an immediate transformation from her usual cool demeanor, Hayasaka is almost sparkling with how excited she is to talk about tech. ]

You are about a hundred and thirty years ahead. [He taps at his cup. Still... the technological advancements that she's speaking of are, quite frankly, astounding. If he goes back a hundred and thirty years from his place in time... There was great agricultural changes to make labor easier it and it became the age of steam, coal and iron. Not to mention manufacturing was starting to become far more prominent. Perhaps it's the same kind of leaps they just they seem greater going forward over backward.] I am unfamiliar with a great deal but not disinclined to learn.
Do you have a particular invention you're fond of? [She seems quite passionate about it all if her new expression is anything to go by. It'd be like asking him about wine.] Or... I am uncertain how to phrase it properly other than inquiring about just the technology you prefer over the others.

[ This is way too much info for someone from the 1800s, but Kaguya was almost as bad at technology for a long time and Hayasaka can't let that sort of thing stop her from talking about it. ]
They had some basic electronics with the craft supplies, but nothing with real compute power... Well, I guess I see why they'd want to avoid that. We should be talking to each other and figuring out our feelings, not on our phones running statistical models.

For the sake of fallowing this conversation as best as I can, what would you say is comparable to what you're speaking of in regards to something of my time? Though it may be far removed what is the closest comparison you can make? The time you'd be looking at is around the 1890s...
[Oh, actually.]
A detective that I know, Sherlock Holmes, has managed to create certain things that seem beyond our time. Some of the bare bones of the technology that will be common place in your time, I imagine. So... I may actually be vaguely more familiar with some things that you might not expect when it comes to the 19th century. For example... He had a hand in creating these items which can communicate with each other from great distances. Though I do believe they can only speak with one another... Similar to the telephones we have at present. These devices only respond to their opposite but I do understand that the telephones you have these days can contact anyone with a similar device.

Wait, you know Sherlock Holmes?

I do... I am, somewhat, indebted to the man. But he is a detective of no small renown and his ward has written a series of short stories about him which has given him great fame with the middling and lower classes.
Surely he is not so notable a name in 2021...

[He shouldn't be so cruel but there is always a need to feel defensive when this man comes into conversation. He owes him a great deal and perhaps that's what brings the sharp yet weary response to the name.]
I... can't say I am familiar with the author. The Adventure's of Sherlock Holmes were written by a Miss Iris Watson or under the pen name John H Watson... Lord Roland actually has my copy of those stories if you'd like to see them for yourself.

[If there are some dissimilarities between her version and his own experience he is curious as to what that is. Well, if she hasn't read the stories there's no particular use in questioning further.]
A curious state of affairs. I had not considered that while there are clearly different worlds, such as Prince Roland and Lord Ferdinand's homes, those of us who come from seemingly the same place could still differ in great and small ways.

[ Hayasaka says this in an offhanded way. She cannot take this whole world travel alternate dimension things too seriously or she's going to have some problems. ]

And the last thing he needs is Sherlock Holmes changing the timeline because he mentioned a selfie or some such.
What a headache...]
I suppose being here at all is quite the marvel. It will take some careful explaining to those that we know back home. [At least he and Dominique come from a similar time and place.] Although my difficulty is not so much technological and more fantastical, Lady Dominique being a vampire and all.

There are still discussions to be had. In the end it seems as if she'll have more explaining to do than I in regards to her human companion.
[As for the biting... well... he simply sips his tea.]

I'm fond of her, most sincerely, and I would like to make this work should it be possible.

...Well, even in my time, there's generally an order people do things in. The people who just follow their feelings and do them out of order can end up with the strongest relationships in the end, though.
no subject
You do have the right of it, yes. We shall have to see as nothing is certain but I do feel positive about it all. I hope much the same for you and Miss Nagiko. Even if it be only friendship I hope it is quite fruitful.
no subject
Well, even if we just stay friends, it's not like that's bad. I like her, she's a lot of fun to be around, and I do still need more friends.
[ Even as Hayasaka says that she doesn't sound entirely satisfied, though. ]

A perfect match doesn't have to always be romantic... Many people have a great confident and companion that they tell more to than their significant other. There's no denying the importance of something like that in your life. But... I suppose that's not exactly what people are here for but it shouldn't have a nose turned up to it either.
[He's fairly keen at reading people. The lift and lilt in people's voices is ever important when cross examining people on the stand. In this case to press further does feel like stepping into territory he's not sure he's earned. He and Miss Ai have not spoken over much up till now. But... he will try and tread carefully.]
Were you hoping for something more substantial, Miss Ai?
no subject
[ Hayasaka doesn't seem offended by the question, but she hums for a moment as she considers it seriously. ]
Maybe I was hoping for something less substantial? I certainly wasn't expecting to find my life partner in a few weeks. Something like that has to be built up over time as you get to know each other and negotiate boundaries, and even people with compatible personalities may not have compatible lives.
Not to mention this a reality TV show. I was expecting more sexual tension, stupid drama, love triangles and all that. I haven't really done anything like that before, so I thought it would be fun to have the experience.
