Hi there! This is Shay, and this is my silly little shipping game idea. Welcome to the HOLIDATE interest check! Thank you for giving the game a look! HOLIDATE is a shipping game themed around winter holidays and Christmas romance tropes specifically. It borrows heavily from Are You the One?, both the reality television show and starswept's short-term game from earlier this year. The premise is borrowed and tweaked with her permission!

HOLIDATE is a short-term, private game that will run on a weekly event schedule from Halloween to mid-December, with an "off" week with no major events to accommodate Thanksgiving. Each week, characters will compete in romantic challenges and dating scenarios while trying to find which other participant the game runners have selected as their Perfect Match. If all matches are found by the end of the game, every character will win a "Holiday Miracle" and be able to have a wish of their choice granted. While the basic structure is reminiscent of other short-term setups like murder and mafia style games, it is my intention that HOLIDATE remain low-pressure throughout its run. The short duration and end goal for the characters will still create the incentive for rapid CR development; however, participation in every single event isn't mandatory. This is my Christmas gift for my friends and I want to make it a positive, cozy experience.

I have a couple of different characters in mind; the one I am leaning towards is a little unorthodox for holiday joy while others play it very straight. I'm not sure if it's better to preserve the mystery or talk them out, but! Either way, the Overseer will be guiding everyone to a happy holiday.

Questions, Comments, Concerns?: Barring the need to fill an uneven number of participants and play in the game myself, my hope is that I'll have the time for the Overseer to be around regularly to mingle throughout the weeks for maximum drama and fun. I normally wouldn't do that with a mod character, but, like, you know. My city now. Would people be cool with that level of playing in my own game given the more casual atmosphere?

Character Considerations: Kizuna Chieda from AI: The Somnium Files: Nirvana Initiative, shortly before "Nostalgic Idol"! My backup choice is Mahiru Koizumi (after Hope Arc), though I've been saving her for Castaway.
Certainty: There was a point in time when I would have said 100%, but some career events have occurred after that time; this includes a period of absence in November of days around the time November 5th. I'm also not entirely sure how well I'll be able to canon review before the game. So it's 80%.
Questions, Comments, Concerns?: Kizuna is very nearly in what you would call a walking spoiler situation that also deals with slightly sensitive themes so PLEASE let me know if you have any problems.

I think Nirvana Initiative has been out long enough that even a walking spoiler situation SHOULD be reasonable, and I'll definitely be putting in a quick ref permissions/content opt-out system for folks to have on hand!

I've owned the original AI: The Somnium Files for like two years...I have not played it yet I'm gomen. But Kizuna seems like she would be a really great choice especially if you don't want to pull Mahiru out of retirement!

Character Considerations: I'm still deciding, but! I have really been wanting to give Hayakawa Aki from Chainsaw Man another shot. I almost don't want to go into too many details for those who haven't read it (because I want everyone to either read or watch this one), but... he is a stick-in-the-mud romance-less disaster with a silly hairstyle and horrible wintertime seasonal depression, so it should be great.

Potential back-ups could be... probably characters that would involve me doing a lot more canon review LMAO so I don't know, uhhh, Asato from Lamento? Luna-Terra from Heaven Will Be Mine? This is me sparing y'all from the most questionable characters from my muselist, but... Those are the thoughts in my head currently.

Oh Hayasaka looks SUPER cute and I want her to find happiness....I'd also like for Karina to find happiness, but I'm going to remain hopeful for her in canon first!! You can do it, Karina. And you know how I feel about Kasque...who would eat so many people alive...all four good choices if you're able to make it!

Assssss for V and his pets, which is a more serious question, I think he might need to be separated from them if they are sentient/stay out for a long time upon summoning/keep him company? If it's feasible, he might be able to tap into a creature-less version of the power or see them temporarily ala the pet event in the last round, though! Sorry for being a little unfamiliar with how exactly they work but hopefully one of those options would apply well!

Mikado Aisaka aka Yoshi Nanase from 1BitHeart - A bit of an odd fellow who seems to know what everyone wants and gives it to them immediately. He loves all of humanity and sees himself as garbage, so, you know, already a great candidate for finding love.

Tatsuma Hiyuu from Tokyo Majin - anime adaptation of a silent protag, he punches demons at night and ALSO loves humanity but in a somewhat more normal way. He just likes people and wants to help everyone he can. Very sweet, loves strawberries, kind of quiet which makes him a little tougher but I think I can manage!

Saki Watanabe from Shinsekai Yori/From the New World - definitely on the older side compared to most folks' options so far (27), lady with psychokinesis from a society that makes it literally impossible to hurt other humans and also encourages bonobo-like relationships so she's. She's very open to things if nothing else.

Theobald Leonhart from LiEat - this is a longshot because he's the type who would sign up explicitly to scam people on accounts of being a con artist. He does have a sweet side to him if you look... very very very deep inside.
